Engage the chief nerve of the 'rest and repair' branch of your nervous system. It is only when the body is in a state of relaxation and safety that repair of damaged tissues and a reduction of inflammation can occur. When we are in 'fight and flight', it is virtually impossible for healing to occur. Since many of us are unable to visit their therapists, due to the current Covid-19 situation, I am proposing exercises that can trigger a relaxation response and allow a sense of healing and a better capacity to respond to aches and pains in the safety of our own homes.
